Apparently the builders are looking at changing the planned order of works, and rather than doing the inside works mid to late in the project, they are now looking to do them early in the schedule. This means rather than having 1-2 months to clear stuff out of the way, we have 1-2 weeks.

Fireworks in the suburbs equals panicked dogs. Think twice before setting off illegal fireworks. I can hear them barking and setting each other off.

Started a new job on Monday, have spent most of the last week on the couch recovering from a chest/sinus/ear infection and a moderate fever. Really hoping I'm back on my feet for a full day on Monday next week.

Great way to impress the new boss in the first week. :(

Went impulse bra shopping today. As a full-figured woman I generally find this a painful and frustrating exercise.

Walking through Australia on Collins I came across a store that specialists in lingerie for D-cup or larger. Ended up having a fitting, buying one bra and ordering another in a colour they didn't have in stock. If anyone is interested ( Read more... )

Last day done. In a break with tradition, rather than going to the pub for farewell drinks, we went to Koko Black for hot chocolate. My boss had never been there before. I may have created a monster. :)

There's something strangely hypnotic about gliding along in a train staring out into the mid winter darkness seeing momentary glimpses of other lives as you pass lit windows, like portals to otherness, another place, another time, another dimension.

So about one third of roles at CenITex got identified to be cut, announced yesterday. My whole team got cut. I have about 2 months until my current contract expires, initial indications are that they will let it run it's term.

So now I have to work out what sort of role I am looking for going forward. Straight BA, something Config or Change related ( Read more... )
